ADULT EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING.

We utilize an experiential learning framework for designing, developing, and delivering a plethora of learning experiences for adult learners.  We believe that learning is a process and is created through engagement, collaboration, and by capitalizing on each participants years of experience and knowledge.

When learners use all of their senses and take practical action, it leads to more retention of information.  Consequently, our learning cycle follows a methodology consisting of three elements.  We reflect and engage in an experience or task, analyse it to obtain valuable insight, and apply it pragmatically.  The cycle is our compass to focus on learning and having fun at the same time!

Difficult Conversations & Meaningful Dialogue
This workshop focuses on techniques concerning how to hold difficult conversations in a positive space.  It is intended to provide participants with the skills to have more meaningful dialogue, provide constructive feedback under adverse conditions, address difficult topics, and instill competencies to influence others.  The skill-set that participants will learn will allow them to face any situation in their personal and professional life with nearly anybody regardless of power, personality, or sensitivity.

Harassment and Bullying in the Workplace
This workshop increases participant’s understanding of what constitutes forms of harassment/bullying in the workplace, clarify roles & responsibilities of the employee/employer, and to create a respectful work environment. Participants will be able to describe and consider individual behaviours that can contribute to conflict and impact on others.  They will leave with strategies and plans to work together in creating a workplace that is free from harassment, bullying, and discrimination.

Differences, Diversity, and Discrimination
This explores the various elements of diversity, changing demographics, and the benefits they bring in the workplace.  We look at individual and systemic discrimination, acquire a better understanding of the concepts of race/racial identity, and determine their impact on the workplace.  We examine human rights, amass tools to challenge discriminatory behaviors, and understand the roles/responsibilities of each individual to maintain a healthy work environment.

Managing Virtual Teams
This workshop is designed to help your remote team develop practical strategies to stay performing, engaged, and connected.  We discuss the challenges that are inherent to virtual teams, how to develop a shared understanding among team members, leveraging technology, establishing a communication plan and operational guidelines, ensuring there is trust, social bonding, and effective meetings, and finally, address ways to handle performance management.

Mental Health, Stigma, and the Workplace
Our facilitators are certified with the Mental Health First Aid from the Mental Health Commission of Canada.  The objective of this workshop is to build awareness about the continuum of mental health, explore the impact of stigma in the workplace, identify indicators of psychological health and safety, expand participants’ understanding of signs and symptoms of mental health, and determine actions to support, accommodate, and examine elements of wellness with respect to mental health.
